Futures Nordic Talents

Futures Nordic Talents

Copenhagen Photo Festival has been invited as a partner for the 4th edition of the FUTURES, a platform co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union focusing on amplifying emerging talents in photography in Europe. As the only partner invited from the Nordic region, we have created a programme to showcase Nordic lens-based artists with a new programme titled FUTURES NORDIC TALENTS.

The focus is to offer the young talents an experimental forum in which to present their. As a unique exhibition park situated outside of the norms of art institutions, it is Copenhagen Photo Festival’s mission to encourage new alternatives of how to present photography and lens-based art, not only in terms of format (cross and interdisciplinary approaches) but also in relation to architecture and the public sphere.

The finalists are also being invited to a one-day personalised consultation at Artproof, Estonia. In addition, as a part of the European FUTURES partnership, they are invited to join their European peers and photography experts in either Rencontre d’ Arles June 2021), Melkweg Expò during Unseen (Sept 2021), or Paris Photo (Nov 2021). Due to the pandemic, it is likely that the travel to Estonia and one of the FUTURES platform meetings will be decided upon later after the summer and after the finalists have been vaccinated.
